British rockers Oasis have embarked on a 2008 World Tour. The Oasis tour supports their newest album, Dig Out Your Soul. The album is Oasis’ seventh studio album. The U.S. Oasis tour in support of this album begins December 3rd at Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA. The tour will feature 11 dates in cities across the U.S. and Canada. Supporting Oasis on tour for these dates will be Ryan & the Cardinals. As of this writing, the U.S. leg of the tour is scheduled to end December 20th in Fairfax, VA. Trivia About Oasis Tours and Oasis Tickets
- On September 7, 2008, band member Noel Gallagher was attacked during an Oasis concert in London, Ontario. He was pushed from behind by a fan and he fell onto his monitor speakers, bruising his ribs and hip.
- In the new millenium, Oasis suffered a decline in popularity in America and lost band members Paul McGuigan (bass) and Paul Arthurs (rhythym guitar) between recording their albums Standing on the Shoulder of Giants and Heathen Chemistry.
- Paul McGuigan left the band briefly in 1995 due to nervous exhaustion. He was eventually replaced by Scott McLeod, who left abruptly during an Oasis tour in the U.S. McLeod later called Noel Gallagher to say he’d made the wrong decision. Gallagher agreed, telling McLeod, “I think you have too. Good luck signing on.” Ultimately, in order to complete the Oasis tour, the band convinced McGuigan
- In 1994, the band’s wild lifestyle started to take a toll on its members. During an Oasis concert in L.A. that year, while Liam Gallagher was on crystal meth, he made offensive comments about Americans and gave a generally poor performance. Noel Gallagher was so mad about this incident that he temporarily left the band. However, he ultimately reconciled with his Liam and the Oasis tour resumed in Minneapolis.
