Facts about The Killers and The Killers Tours

  • The Killers originated after Brandon Flowers declined to move to Los Angeles with his synthpop band, Blush Response.  Flowers then eventually met Killers band mate David Keunig after responding to an ad Keunig placed in a newspaper – and thus The Killers began to be formed.
  • The name, “The Killers,” came from the bass drum of a fictional band in the music video for a song called “Crystal” by New Order.
  • The Killers have previously had rivalries with other bands including Fall Out Boy and The Bravery (both bands who are on the Island Records label, like The Killers).  The rivalries were caused by Brandon Flowers’ (The Killers’ vocalist and keyboardist) assertion that these bands had ridden on the success of The Killers.
  • The Killers’ album, Hot Fuss, was nominated for five Grammy Awards and has sold over 5 million copies (to see The Killers perform songs on their newest album, get tickets for the Killers tour by using the Killers ticket listings above).
